Ahh, Mercury retrograde. I can always feel it immediately. Things just don’t seem to move forward easily at all, starting new projects is a complete nightmare, things break (especially electronics). In fact, as I started to write this post, I discovered that our refrigerator stopped working…bye, bye brand new block of Beecher’s cheese that I just bought. Go figure!

Anyway, I have decided I’m going to spend this month working on developing those tips and tutorials I talked about sharing, so I can take some time to refine the content and present them in the best way possible. March is looking like it’s going to be a wild ride…so taking one thing at a time seems like a smart move.

This is a photo I took of a glass; it came out looking really abstract and cool to begin with, and I went to town editing until it ended up looking like what you see above. I have been really into arty photography lately, especially still life and more conceptual pieces like this. I find it very soothing (and fun!) to take a seemingly ordinary photo through a series of manipulations…always yields interesting results.

Weekly Fragments /

+ Been drinking Emergen-C like a fiend, as I’ve been fighting off a cold/flu thing for the past few weeks. People are dropping like flies at work…and I realllllllly don’t want to get sick!

+ Treated myself to a couple beauty products this week: my favorite Kiehl’s fragrance (Vanilla Cedarwood) and the lip balm I swear by, Nuxe’s Reve de Miel.

+ After coveting this Fieldguided print for quite some time, I finally purchased it and am so happy I did. Fits right in with all my other astronomy-related treasures.

+ I saw The xx last weekend, and I seriously can’t stop thinking about how amazing they were. Not exaggerating when I say it was an utterly magical, ethereal + enchanting show. After loving and listening to The xx for years, all of their songs sounded so fresh hearing them live. The Paramount was the perfect venue. Would see them again in a heartbeat.

+ got several pieces from Ikea for our new spot – and just like every single other time, Henry and I found ourselves cursing them as we assembled the furniture per their nonsensical directions/drawings. Go figure!

+ Mighty-O doughnuts. A total weakness of mine. I’ve consumed far too many in the past few weeks, but I just can’t say no to their cinnamon sugar one…it’s so, so good.

+ took Oliver to Rex in Capitol Hill for their spa treatment. I just love that place! Such friendly people, and their services are extremely fairly priced. Ollie loves them and their blueberry facial as well. Bonus: there is usually a gorgeous English Mastiff named Zeus there to greet you!

+ I won the Moorea Seal giveaway on Bre’s blog!! I was so excited to have won such an awesome giveaway, and to top that off, I had the pleasure of meeting up for coffee with the lovely Moorea herself this past weekend. She is a fellow Seattleite, and just such a sweet lady. We hit it off right away, and I can’t wait to see her again soon. Oh, and I’ve been rocking my amethyst ring everywhere (thanks Bre + Moorea)!

+ Ordered some Stickygrams.

+ Love this gum from TJ’s and the packaging.

+ Got this beautiful print from Kate Miss’ new print shop. I feel like it captures the Northwest perfectly.

+ For some reason, Henry and I only wanted to eat at Chipotle this week.  We went twice!

+ Picked up this cool industrial paper clip from Anthro.  Thought it would be good for keeping all the randoms on my desk in check.

+ Forgot how much I loved this scent. Snagged a little sample.

+ Henry’s parents mailed us these Mac & Jack’s coasters since I’m starting the new beer design job next Monday (!) Mac & Jack’s is a Seattle fave.

I’m one of those people who hangs onto any little paper trinket I happen across during the week if I like the looks of it.  They kind of tell a little story about what I’ve been up to, and I decided it would be fun to share.  Maybe it will even help me stop my hoarding ways since I’ll have it all documented here to look back on, haha.

Weekly Fragments /

+ ticket to see Reggie Watts (he was one of the best comedians I’ve seen to date)

+ piece of orange-chocolate candy I picked up from Lucca

+ gift card packaging from Anthropologie

+ tag from Kin of Kin (just bought a lunar calendar that I love)

+ wax seal from Warby Parker
